My love for babies started young. I used to beg my mom to have another baby and would spend every Sunday at church looking for babies to hold. I started babysitting as soon as I could. As I got older my compassion and heart for serving others grew. In high school I became a certified nursing assistant and worked at a nursing home. In college I started in nursing school and then switched to get my degree as an ASL/English interpreter. During that time I was also a nanny for a wonderful family from when their oldest was only 6 weeks old through the birth of 2 more children. After becoming a mom myself, my desire was to serve other moms and combined with my love for babies, becoming a doula was a wonderful fit for all of my passions.
I was certified and trained through Well-Rounded Maternity Services in Milwaukee under the instruction of Dr. Coral Slavin. I’m also a CAPPA trained postpartum doula and am working on my certification. I love building relationships and getting to know and support new families through birth, but even better if I can continue that support as parents adjust to the new tiny human in their home.
It doesn’t matter how tiny they are, babies change everything. My goal would be for you to make as smooth a transition as possible and to help you feel confident in taking care of your newborn(s). I want to support you through this transition by providing physical, emotional, and informational help.
